Eight-forty-five and the party is
reunited as a bandaged Max and the Doc stroll into the hotel just in
time for the 9 a.m. start to visit Australia Zoo en route to
Surfers Paradise, where the party safely arrived for a couple of
days R&R before the games against Southport School (TSS) on Monday
afternoon.
As we expected might be the
case, resources will be a little stretched for Monday's games with
four of the squad recovering from knocks (Will S - shoulder (which
kept him out for the rest of the tour and turned out to an arm
injury), Jamie
D and Joe B (who'll also miss the rest of the games) - knees, and Sam O - quad) and Max M out for the rest of the tour
following having his damaged finger operated on in Melbourne.
Full day R&R -
and a clinic for the injured. Not quite as warm as back home -
well it is mid winter here after all - but not convinced we merit
the odd looks from "rugged up" locals as we stroll round Surfers in
Ts, shorts and flip flops! Organised
meal tonight at a local Italian restaurant
A tight one against good quality opposition who are
certainly taking the games seriously. TSS - undoubtedly one of Australia's
top rugby schools - makes Brighton College look impoverished with some fantastic
facilities.
