DAYS 18-23 - SYDNEY REVISITED & HOME
For the main Sydney photo gallery click on the Galleries link on the left

Day 18 - Thu 09 Aug

Travel to Sydney by coach (7 hours - stopping @ Port Maquarie and Newcastle

Back in Sydney after a nine-hour trip down the Pacific Highway in Daryl's safe hands.  Time to chill out - and wash (hopefully) - after checking back in to the Hotel Ibis

Day 19 - Fri 10 Aug

Free day / Harbour Cruise to Manly

Free day today for shopping and sightseeing, most of the party took the ferry over to Manly for the beach.

Day 20 - Sat 11 Aug

Match 7 vs. Narrabeen & match 8 vs. Collaroy @ Warringah RC / Aussie Rules @ Telstra Stadium

Change of opposition in both scheduled games because of knock out commitments but out local contacts came up with two good games at a superb venue - followed by some superb Aussie hospitality!

Narrabeen 16s 10 - 19 Sussex XV

Having started the tour with a bang, the last day starts with a flourish too as the win guarantees a winning tour - no mean feat!

Squad: Manzi, Church, Davis, Gue, Munns (1t), Duffell, Purssey, Martin; Keshavarz (Capt.), Braithwaite (2c), Bowen, Ball, Goddard, Sealy, Barber (2t); Reps: Diprose, Tudor, Overgage.

Collaroy 17s  0 - 32 Sussex XV

Saving the best 'till last.  Probably the best performance by a country mile to completely dominate a valiant Collaroy side.

Squad: Buchanan, Drage, Susman, Edgell (1t), Forrester, Pass, Lilburn, Wallace; Hallam (Capt.), Chisholm (2t,1c); Hinojosa (1t), Smith, Wilson (2t), Harvey-Brown, Levene

Then on to Sydney Opera House for piccies, before the Swans vs. St Kilda in the evening - possibly the worst game of Aussie Rules ever seen but a great evening featuring some friendly banter with neighbouring Swans fans and Garfield leading the "interviewees" on the pre-match big screen.

Day 21 - Sun 12 Aug

Free day in Sydney.  Tour Dinner @ Menzies

Final full day free until the formal end of tour dinner - be interesting to see what state the Number 1s are in!

Superb Tour Dinner for the squad and invited guests at the Menzies to celebrate what has been a very successful tour.

Awards were made to various members of the tour party - including a varied selection reflecting some of the light-hearted moments of the past three weeks.  On the serious side:

Coaches' Best Tourist - Zach Diprose
Players' Player - Luke Wallace
Top Try Scorer - Ross Chisholm

Presentations were also made to the tour skipper and vice skipper, and the players presented the tour management team with signed shirts.

That's all!

Day 22 - Mon 13Aug

Sydney airport for the 2.35 flight to Hong Kong

Day 23 - Tue 14 Aug

Heathrow Terminal 3 @ 05.25

0500 and refreshed after the short hop home - the only downside: Churchill's missing in action!

And that really is all!
